There is about eleven minutes each evening where the light in the studio turns the colour of weak tea, and everything I own looks better than it is. I tried to paint it again today. Failed again, happily.
Repetition gets a bad name. People assume the thirty-eighth marigold is a failure of imagination, when really it is the first time I have actually seen the flower.
Constraints are underrated. One stolen pen, one lunch break, and the small discipline of not being able to erase anything.
